March 2025 Newsletter

Under the Sea Competition

We are holding our annual recreational, 2- and 4-piece competition at the club on 5/6th April. You will have received an email from Catherine inviting you to enter. Recreational levels/set routines are going to be on Saturday 5th and squads and routines to music on Sunday 6th. The closing date is 15th March so please make sure you get your entry in. We cannot accept any late entries. We will be posting reminders on our social media and WhatsApp broadcast group so please make sure you are following us.

Fees

From 1st April 2025 there will be increases and some changes to fees. A new table of fees is attached, you may notice that we no longer have half hourly rates. The small number of gymnasts affected by this change will have their hours rounded up to the hour above. Sibling discounts of 10% will continue to apply. We do everything we can to keep our fees as low as possible and have not had any increases for nearly two years. As a result of rising costs, necessary maintenance and some improvement to the club we do now need to increase fees to stay afloat. Increases have been kept as low as possible and we still represent great value from us a a not-for-profit club. New fees will apply from 1st April 2025.

Reminders

Please note that we have changed the door code. You will have received an email with the code. Please make sure that the door closes properly behind you and that you pass on the code to anyone dropping off or collecting your child.

Children with ear piercings should take them out for gymnastics as soon as they are allowed to. This should be done before the class so they are not lost. If they cannot remove their earrings, you should cover them with plasters or microporous tape. This should also be done before the class using your own tape. We have a large amount of gymnasts who come in with earrings and rely on coaches to notice and put tape on for them. We are frequently running out of tape for this reason. Any other jewellery must be removed if it can be, in line with British Gymnastics jewellery policy. Please let us know if your child has any jewellery they cannot remove and we will let you know what you need to do.

Caitlin’s Level 2

Congratulations to Caitlin, who passed her level 2 coaching exam. Thank you to the gymnasts who helped her on her course practical training sessions and at her exam.

NW Grades

We had 2 NW grades competitions in February with 11 gymnasts taking part. In prep 1, Lily and Iris earned ‘working above’ while Esme, Ayşe and Isabelle all got ‘working beyond’. Ayşe also achieved silver medal for the second highest overall score in Cheshire and Merseyside! In prep 2, Ella, Rosie and Olivia all achieved ‘working above’. At development 1, Abi, Emilia and Aaliyah all achieved ‘working at’. Well done to all for passing your grade and all the hard work you put in.
