Notice of AGM – Sunday 6th October at 1pm

This is formal notice of PENKETH GYMNASTICS CLUB Annual General Meeting.

The AGM will be held on SUNDAY 6th OCTOBER 2024 at 1pm IN THE GYM

Reports and voting at 1.30pm

We are holding our annual AGM on the 6th October in the gym.  We are so pleased that our club is growing and we would like to extend a huge welcome to all our new members. We are always very excited to be looking at ways of allowing our gymnasts to improve their skills and show them off.

It is in our constitution is for us to encourage all our parents and guardians to attend our AGM. You are a huge part of our growth and we welcome everyone’s support, ideas and help.

At the AGM, under the terms of our Articles of Association, all officers of the Committee retire. During the past 12 months, Rachel stepped down as parent representative. We still have one parent representative on the committee but would love to have at least one more. This is your chance to have a say in what happens in your club, to contribute fresh ideas and help to realise exciting new developments. Please speak to us if you’d like to know more about it and fill in the form attached if you think you can help. Barring that all other committee members are more than happy for their names to be put forward for re-election.

We have decided to run our AGM as a social event, where you can come along and talk us about your child’s progress. You will also be able to learn about award schemes and competition structures.

We do unfortunately need to remind parents that if a minimum of 20% of squad parents (full members) are not in attendance; no change of officers can be arranged, and no decisions can be reached to progress the club. It is vital, therefore, to have as many parents in attendance as possible. Recreational members are also welcome to attend. The meeting should not last more than an hour.

We would also like to remind parents that, although we are excited to be moving our club along, we love that we offer the opportunity for children to become involved in an amazing sport that improves fitness levels and builds self-confidence, while giving them a good grounding in the necessary skills required for many other sports. We also offer the opportunity, for the older gymnasts and parents themselves to become more involved in the club as coaches, judges and volunteers.

Thank You,

Catherine McIlrow
