July 2026 Newsletter
2006 Cartwheels Challenge
The first of our 20th anniversary events is on Sunday (5th July). We have 12 timeslots throughout the day, each with 6 places. Members can sign up to do 25 or 50 cartwheels, with the aim of us achieving 2006 cartwheels through the day. We only have a few places left to book at 1pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3pm. All other timeslots are fully booked. Those taking part need to complete a sponsorship form and bring it with them on the day. Please let us know if you need a paper copy as we have some in the gym. Parents may need to help count cartwheels if we don’t have enough volunteers for your child’s time slot. To book a slot please visit – https://bit.ly/Penketh-JoinIn-Shop
Catherine leaving
Our business manager, Catherine, is leaving on 13th July. She has been the main contact for new and current members since January 2023 and will be greatly missed. We are interviewing for admin assistants in the next few days and will let you know who the main contact will be for any enquiries. Please bear with us during the changeover period and contact Sarah on info@penkethgymnastics.co.uk if you have any issues. We would like to thank Catherine for all she has done for the club and wish her well for the future.
Assessment week
Our next assessment week is starting on Monday 13th July and will run until Saturday 18th July. All progress will be updated on the system or you will receive an email to say your child has completed a level. Our next 2 assessment weeks this year are 21st-26th September and 30th November-6th December.
Appeal for help
Due to us losing several members of the committee this year, we are appealing for help with the following committee roles;
- Treasurer – role includes keeping the accounts folder up to date by filing bank statements, receipts and till reports, paying cash in at the bank if possible, financial advice for things such as purchases, fees and staff wages.
- Welfare officer – we have one parent currently going through her welfare officer training but we need a second. Once you have done your training, your role would be to advise on any safeguarding issues arising in the gym as well as keeping our policies and advice up to date.
BG membership
We have had notice from British Gymnastics about new membership fees for the 2026/2027 membership period (so from September this year). They are now;
- Community membership – £26
- Competitive membership – £63
Please see british-gymnastics.org for more information.
Class absence
If your child cannot make a class, please email info@penkethgymnastics.co.uk, admin@penkethgymnastics.co.uk or send us a message through our Facebook page.
Summer Holiday Clubs
We are finalising the details for our summer holiday clubs. Please look out in the next week for information about the clubs we are offering and how to book.
